Yorkshire developer appoints new head of design
6 years agoFollowing record annual growth and major expansion plans, Leeds-based specialist developer, Priestley Homes, has announced the appointment of a new head of design.
With more than 27 years’ architectural experience, including time working client-side across Asia, John Owens joins the Priestley Homes team as head of design.
In his role, John will head up the regeneration firm’s in-house design team, providing services to its Priestley Construction arm also.
John will ensure client expectations are met, design challenges overcome and organisational strategy delivers a profitable investment for Priestley Homes.
John said: “Having worked on many landmark conversions of listed buildings into residential accommodation, I’ve grown to love this aspect of architecture and design. Breathing life back into historic buildings, and allowing communities to enjoy reconnecting with the past – while creating thriving urban areas brimming with character – is something I’m really looking forward to helping Priestley achieve.”
As an advocate for new technologies, John and his design team will be able to capitalise on technological advancements thanks to Priestley’s significant investment in the latest BIM and specification software.
Nathan Priestley, founder and chief executive officer of the Priestley Group, concluded: “John’s wealth of experience has truly bolstered our talented in-house design team and will ensure we are able to further enhance our unrivalled, holistic approach to regeneration design and value engineering.”
Named in Yorkshire’s Fastest 50 2018, Priestley Homes is part of the Priestley Group, which comprises Priestley Homes, Priestley Construction and Priestley Lettings.
The Group recently purchased and moved into an expansive new site on Elland Road following a £1.2million refurbishment.
